If you are interested in sport in all its forms then you should visit, the Museo del Deporte de Mallorca, the sports museum. More than 600 athletes have donated their medals, trophies, t-shirts, shoes, rackets, bicycles and even their motorbikes!
Mallorcan Athletes have won 611 national titles, 69 European Titles and 63 World Titles, an incredible statistic for a small Island!The trophies and stories from these sporting wins can be admired in two rooms in display cabinets, on publicity posters and in multimedia presentations.
Sports lovers will be fully satisfied and delighted with exhibits such as the bike wheels of six times world champion Guillem Timoner or with the bicycle of Simó Febrer Serra, also like Guillem from the town of Felanitx, who won the 1914 national championship! We also find motorbikes, for example the bikes ridden by the first Mallorquines to race in the Paris-Dakar Rally, crossing over 2000km much of it desert!
For soccer fans the boots of ex Mallorcan and Spanish international player Miguel Angel Nadal in which he played against France in the World Cup of 1998 are on display. Tennis fans will find interesting the Racket of Tennis Star Rafa Nadal. The diving suit of Pere Carbonell Amengual, in which he won the World Underwater Fishing Competition in Tahiti in the year 2000 and there is more the best being what you see for yourself!
The Museum is located in the Centre Cultural Cultural de la Misericodia at the end of Las Ramblas at No.4 next door to the hospital.
